The Wells Art Contemporary Awards is an open competition for contemporary visual art that has gained praise and respect in Britain and abroad. It was established five years ago by a group of artists and their friends in Wells, the beautiful cathedral city in the South-West of England.

Shortlisted works will be exhibited at the magnificent Wells Cathedral, set in the medieval heart of England’s smallest city. The exhibition will take place from July to August 2020, and those selected will be eligible for a wide range of awards which include a cash prize, exhibition prizes and professional development opportunities. The portal will open in November 2019 for applications for Wells Art Contemporary 2020. Applications must be made online via wac.artopps.co.uk.
