Alban Berg Ensemble plays Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony
The premiere given on 8th February 1907 by members of the Vienna Philharmonic, caused a near riot, with catcalls, whistles, chair-banging and ostentatious departures by many of the audience. The Alban Berg Ensemble invites you to come and hear what all the fuss was about and why this work proved to be one of the most revolutionary in the history of music. Introduction by Gavin Plumley.
