Cedars Hall is a state-of-the-art performance centre providing a varied programme of top quality entertainment all year round. It is situated in the beautiful grounds of Wells Cathedral School in the heart of the City of Wells. Designed by leading London architect, Eric Parry it was completed in autumn 2016 and has recently won the prestigious RIBA South West Building of the Year Award.
The hall hosts a number of professional and amateur productions throughout the year which include classical concerts by both professional performers and our talented young pupils, art exhibitions, jazz jamming sessions, lectures, masterclasses, dance, plays and films.
The main recital hall, Eavis Hall, has the capacity for audiences up to 350 and is a flexible and modern performance space. In addition to events in Eavis Hall, Cedars Hall provides rehearsal, teaching and performance space for the school’s 200 specialist musicians and serves as a hub for its significant community outreach, which provides music education (including workshops, concerts and masterclasses) for thousands of primary school children, elderly and disability groups in the South West each year.
