Although the fun starts at 11am in the Market Square, the Wells Reindeer Parade (organised by The Rotary Club), will start to parade from the Market Place as usual at 12 noon and lasts for around 45 minutes. The parade will progress down the High Street, through Queen Street and return to the Market Place where the wonderful reindeer from Scotland (six in total) will be in stalls for families to enjoy at close quarters.
There will be many stalls selling Christmas gifts but also some charity stalls such as The Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance of which a collection will be made for them during the parade.
Programmes are £1 each and are for sale in the information Centre and the Crown Hotel. The programme contains a draw ticket which can be taken to the new Cathedral Shop.
Most of the shops will be open and there will be music to entertain everyone along side the Town Hall. The Wells City Band will lead the parade and will also play in St Cuthbert's Church around 2.30.
The Wells Reindeer Committee - Rotary Club are looking for sponsorship/and business advertisements to help fund the event and they would be grateful for any support given, whether large or small.
"To those who have helped us in any way over the past years, we thank you. The event could not have taken place without you."
