4th – 19th April 2020
If you’re in the West Country and looking for fun activities to keep the whole family busy this Easter Holiday, why not head over to The Bishop’s Palace & Gardens in Wells to join in with their Easter-themed family-friendly activities?
The Easter fun starts on Saturday 4th April when the Palace Easter Trail, will be in place; find your way around the Palace Gardens using the baby-animal-themed clues and if you’re successful, claim your prize from the Visitor Reception on the way out. The trail will run until the end of the school holidays on Sunday 19th April.
On Tuesday 7th and 14th April (10:30am-3pm), our Crafty Cats sessions will take place in the Undercroft of the Palace. On both days the theme will be “baby animals” the activities will be different on each occasion.
On Thursday 9th and 16th April (10am-4pm), the Palace team will be holding “Nature Ninjas” activity sessions with a difference in the Community Garden, aimed at getting little ones engaged with nature. This year the Palace will have two lambs with their mother for children to meet and some wool-based activities.
If you’re looking for a day out with a difference, then don’t miss The Bishop’s Palace’s Medieval Falconry Day on Easter Saturday (11th April). Suitable for all ages, this event will include flying displays with an expert falconer who will take visitors through the different uses that Kings, Queens, Bishops and Peasants would have had for these wonderful birds in Medieval times.
In between displays, visitors will have the chance to handle some of the birds.
As this event is a fundraising day for the Palace, ticket prices will be: £10.25 adults, £5.10 children, £20.50 Family with 1 adult and up to 3 children, £28.50 Family with 2 adults and up to three children – including entrance to the site.
Don’t forget we have the fabulous Dragon’s Lair playground where little ones can let off steam on the natural play equipment, whilst exploring the themes of the Palace - climb the Dragon’s Wings, explore the Tree Pods, crawl through the Dragon’s belly or pump the water to spill the bucket and send the Dragon to sleep – the choice is yours!
The Bishop’s Table café also has a great range of children’s meals and snacks, along with plenty to keep the grown-ups happy too.
Family activities are included in standard admission and under 5’s are always FREE.
