Complete Beethoven Piano Sonatas 3/7 - Friday 24th January 7.00pm
Experts tell us that there are at least three different Beethovens - the masterly classical disciple of Haydn and Mozart, the hurler of titanic musical thunderbolts (think of the Fifth Symphony or see the Hammerklavier on 1st March), and the lyrical Romantic of the Pastoral Symphony. For this third concert in his cycle, Jonathan Biss plays some of Beethoven’s most melodic and warm-hearted piano music, including the lovely A major sonata, op.101, plus op.28 Pastoral and op.90 in E major - just two movements, but both expressions of pure joy.
Tickets: £14 - £23. Free for 25s and under.
